The new version of the headset was released at midnight local time around the world on August 24th. Local retailers began to update their product listings at midnight.

The 128 GB version of the Oculus Quest 2 retails for $299 USD. This is the exact same price as the original 64 GB version.

You can plugin a compatible hard drive into the device’s USB-C slot, but there are some things to be aware of:
- You need to strap this hard drive to your head somewhere as a counterweight
- You will not be able to store games on this external hard drive
- Accessing files from within the Oculus OS is hit-and-miss
