What is the Logitech Chorus?

logitech chorus review for the quest 2

The Logitech Chorus is a new pair of headphones designed for the Quest 2 VR headset. They sit off your ears slightly on either side so that you don’t have to actually wear anything over your ears. Logitech promotes the Chorus as being able to help recreate the world around you.

Logitech combines nearby sound reproduction and open-air design to deliver the best blend of realism, sound reproduction, and comfort. The Chorus accessory uses custom-tuned off-ear acoustics instead of on-ear or earbuds drivers.

The rotating speakers sit alongside your ears so you can be aware of the real world around you. The Chorus aims to increase VR sound quality while delivering a new level of ultra-realistic, immersive audio.

Chorus headphones for the Meta Quest 2 costs $129.99.

Key Features

The Chorus comes with exciting features for your listening pleasure. Some of the great features include:

Off-Ear Audio

The Chorus are off-ear headphone. The speakers sit in front of the ears and transmit audio through the air. This design delivers immersive, ultra-realistic audio while forgetting that you are even wearing headphones.

When using the Chorus, nothing around or close to your ear will interfere with your games.

Flip-to-Mute

The Chorus also features the flip-to-mute option. Sometimes while you’re immersed in VR, you/ need to jump back into the real world to attend to a couple of things or answer someone around you.

The Chorus immediately mutes when you flip it up and out of the way. If you need to go back into VR, flip it down outside your ears, and that’s it. This feature offers easy and quick control of your VR audio.

USB-C Passthrough

The Chorus smoothly integrates into the Quest 2 without limiting the headset’s functionality. The headphone can achieve this because it uses the Quest 2 built-in USB-C port to power its audio output.

The arrangement offers a USB-C passthrough connection port for data connections and charging, while providing the speakers with comfortable storage. In other words, there’s no separate power source needed.

Tight Integration with the Meta Quest 2

As mentioned above, the Chorus has smooth audio integration with the Meta Quest 2, which leaves nothing to chance. With custom-tuned off-ear acoustics, you will hear the tiniest details in the metaverse and the most significant moments.

Plus, you can listen to your immediate surroundings, so you are always aware of your environment.

What I Like About the Logitech Chorus

There are a few things I really liked about the Chorus as a new audio accessory. They provide a really warmer and life-like sound quality. I don’t think they boom as loudly as a good quality set of over-ear headphones, but it’s close. And if you like to switch off your Quest 2 with friends and family, the off-ear solution is much more universal.

Chorus has an open-back design. This is a good thing if you want to pay a little bit of attention to your surroundings while you play. Plus, the flip-to-mute option gives you a fast way to mute your VR sounds. This is a level of integration with the Quest 2 that other basic headphones don’t have.

Compared to Logitech’s other VR headphones for the Quest 2 (the G333 and Pro VR), I think the Chorus will be the most universally liked.

What I Don’t Like About the Logitech Chorus

The biggest drawback about the Chorus comes from one of its advantages: there is very little noise isolation. Because the headphones sit off ear and have an open-back design, you can still hear your surroundings if you focus.

You just have to understand what you are buying and if this is a big deal to you or not.

The Logitech Chorus headphones don’t have complete spatial audio either. For a premium-priced audio solution, this would have been nice to see.

Now that you know the main pieces about the Chorus, let’s compare these headphones to some other popular VR headphones from Logitech.

Logitech Chorus vs Logitech G Pro VR Headphones

First, let’s look at how the Chorus stacks up with the Logitech G Pro VR regarding construction, features, and pricing.

Style

In terms of construction, both the Pro VR and Chorus are designed as headphones for virtual reality. The Chorus is a perfect option for those willing to upgrade their experience for a sound quality improvement and VR immersion.

The Pro, on the other hand, is a fantastic kit. From its ease of use and generally excellent sound quality to its comfort and tasteful design, the Pro can elevate your VR experience. The Pro has a super soft, padded head strap supported by elastic mounting for proper fitting. The cups are large enough to enclose large ogre ears. The Pro won’t impact the aesthetic of your headset.

Both headphones are fantastic in their own ways. The Chorus smoothly integrates with the Meta Quest 2 and other official headsets without interfering with the headsets’ functionality. The sound reproduction is more balanced than the Pro, with the bass slotting in better.

Pro VR has better immersion because of it’s on-ear design. It’s a bit less comfortable in my opinion for longer gaming sessions.

Features

Unlike the Chorus, the G333 VR has a custom-length cable and passive noise isolation so that you can immerse yourself in the VR world with no outside distractions.

The G333 VR is constructed to last using an aluminum fork and steel-reinforced headband. It uses premium materials for extraordinary comfort during extended gameplay.

The Chorus and G333 VR deliver clear, precise, and natural sound for a breathtaking VR experience.

Price

Both headphones cost $99.

Logitech Chorus vs Logitech G333 VR Earbuds

Style

The main difference between the Chorus and the G333 are that the G333s are earbud style headphones. Since the Quest 2 supports an ordinary audio jack, you can easily plug in the G333 VR to enjoy high-quality audio. The cable is measured to fit the Quest’s audio port, with the right earbud having a longer cord than the left.

While the setup is a little fiddly, the output is slick and will make you feel the earbuds were always part of the headset.

The Chorus will always sit right beside your ears. If yours are an awkward shape, the G333 earbuds may fall out of your ears. Unlike the Chorus, the G333 VR can block ambient sounds while gaming.

In terms of sound quality, the Chorus offers superior performance. The audio feels rich and clear, only that they are a bit heavy on the bass.

Features

The Chorus combines nearby sound reproduction and open-air design to deliver the best blend of realism, sound reproduction, and comfort.

The G333 comes with custom-length cable and straps to sit correctly on the Quest 2, providing incredibly detail-rich sound. The 3.5 mm aux connection offers minimal latency for optimal realism. You can set and forget the G333 buds and not experience any issues even when you play for extended hours. The sturdy aluminum housing guarantees authentic aesthetic and durability.

Both devices deliver impressive audio output and can immerse you into the virtual world. Both devices provide consistent audio reproduction; the mics are decent enough for quality recordings.

Price

In terms of pricing, the Chorus is more expensive than the G333 VR. The Chorus and the G333 VR price tags are $129.99 and $69.99, respectively.

If you like earbud-style headphones for VR gaming, the G333 are the top solution available.
